Frequently Asked Questions About Becht Mixing Bowls
What materials are the Becht pro medix mixing bowls made from?
Our mixing bowls are made from chemical-resistant silicone. The material has been specially developed to meet the extreme demands of the dental sector and offers a non-porous, completely smooth surface.
Are the mixing bowls resistant to aggressive dental monomers?
Yes, the mixing cups are completely resistant to monomers. They are neither corroded nor made brittle by aggressive liquids, such as those used in cold and hot polymerisation agents, primers or solvents.
Is it easy to remove cured material (e.g. dental cement or composite) from the tray?
Yes, thanks to the extremely smooth inner walls and high flexibility (in the case of silicone/plastic), excess material can usually be removed without leaving any residue after curing by tapping or gently stretching.
Do the bowls become discoloured when using highly pigmented prophylaxis pastes or medications?
No, the non-porous structure of the material prevents pigments (e.g. from polishing pastes or medicines containing chlorhexidine) from penetrating it. Should any stubborn residues remain, the cups can simply be cleaned.
